BRADSHAW
Ben Bradshaw (AKA – Brian Stewart) has over 40 years acting experience. Initially, he trained as a
Biomedical Scientist earning a B.SC and Ph.D in pharmacology from the Universities of Bath and
London and then worked as a research scientist for a number of large pharma companies before
turning full-time to acting and writing when he hit 40.
Ben’s first TV role was as the namesake, Ben, in all episodes of the award-winning original and
ground-breaking comedy series The Office written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Stephen
Merchant. Since then he has had a number of roles in feature films, corporate videos, commercials,
voice overs and TV, too - more recently as Sergeant Filkins in the Amazon Prime series, Carnival Row.
As Brian Stewart (his original name) he is a published playwright. His play Castro’s Beard – a comedic,
satirical play about the attempts of the CIA to assassinate the Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro, in the
1960’s was performed in the US, off-Broadway, Houston, Barrington and then had a national tour of
the UK. Another of his plays, Falling Star, co-written with Rebecca Russell is running in repertory in
Russia (Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg) and about to go to Moscow – once Covid is defeated.
He is also the co-founder (and co-translator) of the Cimrman English Theatre in Prague. The theatre
company specialises in the translation and performances in English of the renowned Czech
playwright, Jára Cimrman.
